BREAKING NEWS: Troops intercept youths with ammunition in Southern Kaduna.

Troops of 1 Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army have intercepted two men carrying live ammunition in Kagoma Chiefdom in Southern Kaduna, the General Officer Commanding the Division, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade has disclosed.

Following this development, the GOC who was in the area to have talks with elders and youths of Kagoma Chiefdom directed immediate deployment of troops to Ninte, a Southern Kaduna community where the renewed attacks in the region took its root.

The GOC explained that the middle aged men were driving in a maroon colored Volkswagen vehicle through the front of the Sarkin Kagoma’s palace when they were nabbed by the troops.

He said, “The troops became suspicious when they tried to stop the men and they objected. The troops then approached them, only to discover there were rounds of ammunition in the vehicle. They have been arrested and taken to the military camp in Kafanchan.”

The Pop Gwong of Kagoma Chiefdom, Paul Zakka Gyon who was also at the meeting, said the recent attacks had connection to the inability of the natives displaced from Ninte to return home.

He appealed that troops be deployed to restore confidence and for the displaced natives to return home and stabilize the community before security agents were withdrawn.

Our correspondent gathered that there were allegations that Fulani herders had taken over Ninte village and had been grazing their cattle on the natives’ farms since after the first attack in June 2016.

Daily Trust gathered that it was against this backdround that General Oyebade directed the Commander in charge of troops in the area, Lt. Colonel Bello, to deploy troops to Ninte within 24 hours.

While assuring that the troops were on ground to restore peace to the area without taking sides, the GOC appealed to both the Fulani communities and locals not to cause a religious crisis, which he said was capable of consuming everyone.

He warned the youths in particularly not to allow anyone, especially politicians, to use them to achieve their political agenda by causing crisis.

BREAKING: Division In Ekiti APC Over Adeboye's Bribery Allegation

Our attention has been drawn to press statement credited to Chief Jide Awe, who is still parading himself as the chairman of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in which he insinuated that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye may have collected bribe from Governor Ayodele Fayose to declare support for him.

While we do not want to dabble into the argument of whether or not the statement was issued by Chief Jide Awe, or the propriety of him issuing press statements on behalf of the party, we wish to state that in saner climes, he (Jide Awe) will not even be parading himself as Chairman of any political party.

Most importantly, we cannot join anyone in rebutting the highly offensive statement made against a revered man of God like Pastor Adeboye and the entire RCCG, because when the so-called State Exco of the APC being led by Chief Jide Awe did the same against the Osun State Governor, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola, simply because he visited Governor Fayose and made positive comments about the governor, we frown at it.

Also, it was this same Jide Awe led Exco that ridiculed our Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, by shunning the meeting he held with party leaders simply because he chose to hold the meeting in the Ado Ekiti residence of Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

It is also on record that it was this same Chief Jide Awe, as the State Chairman of Action Congress (AC) that instigated the protest against Aare Afe Babalola (SAN) in Ibadan in 2007 just because the respected lawyer was supporting Engr Segun Oni against Dr Kayode Fayemi at that time.

We are therefore not surprised that such an offensive statement can come from Chief Jide Awe, and any member of our party that want to defend him should first ask why he has been occupying the same party secretariat as State Chairman since 2006!

It is therefore on this note that we, as responsible and progressive youths of the APC in Ekiti State wish to dissociate ourselves from this abusive comments made against Pastor Adeboye by Chief Jide Awe and his bunch of impostors still masquerading as State Exco of our party. They do not speak for us.

Furthermore, we wish to call on the national leadership of our party to once and for all resolve the issue of the Ekiti State Exco of the party it cannot be explained by anyone how a single individual will be State Chairman of Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) in 2006, Action Congress (AC) from 2006 to 2010, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) from 2010 to 2014 and APC from 2014 till date!

Jide Awe has spent 10 years in the same office as State Chairman and we ask; is he the only person that can be State Chairman of our party?

In conclusion, we once again apologise to Pastor Adeboye and the entire RCCG family, and state that Jide Awe or any other individual in his so-called State Exco does not speak for our party.

INSPIRING: SAMSUNG CHIEF SCRIBE FULFILS PROMISE MADE TO WIFE DECADES AGO, HOST ABIA GOVERNOR

"He promised his wife 10 years ago when he was a nobody and wooing her for marriage that one day, she will host the governor of Abia state in their residence, yesterday he fulfilled his promise"- Nigerian Lawyer shares inspiring message on Facebook

Barrister Onyebuchi Ememanka, Samsung's industries  company Secretary had his family thanksgiving at his native Umule Abia state, in attendance was the Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu.

The erudite corporate Nigerian lawyer  shared this inspiring message how he assured his wife that they would one day host VIP's and the governor of Abia in their residence, this promise was made 10 years when he was not sure where the next meal would come from and does not know the current governor of the state.

Dreams indeed come true.

Read his narrative below:

A PROMISE KEPT

In the first week of January 2005, I met my wife for the very first time. As soon as I saw her, I knew she was the one and I told her so. I really wanted to settle down then.

In the process of wooing her, I told her lots of things. One of the key things I told her then was that I will get her to play host to and shake the hands of the Governor of Abia State and play host to VIPs at our residence severally.

When I made that statement, I was just a few months out of NYSC and I didn't even know how the Government House Umuahia looked like. The closest I had gone to the Government House was in 1999 when as the PRO of the Law Students Association, Abia State University, I had gone to deliver a letter to the Governor soliciting for assistance for the association. That day, I did not go beyond the main gate of the Government House. I was asked to wait for one Chief Ike Victor Oye who was then an SA to then Governor Orji Uzor Kalu. He is currently the National Chairman of APGA.

The man was driving out of the Government House and saw me at the gate, he wound down the glass of his car, spoke to me for a few seconds, collected the letter, tossed it on his seat and drove off. I knew that was the end of that story.

When I made that promise, I had never heard of any person called Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

When I made that promise, my wife looked at me in disbelief and just smiled derisively. I am sure she didn't believe me.
Fast forward to yesterday...

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu joined us at our thanksgiving service at Umule. Not only did he come to our church, he stayed till the end of the service, spoke to our people and made a handsome donation to the widows in our church, sick pastors and then the church. Of course, he shook my wife's hands and those of our children.

He spoke very glowingly about me and called me HIS LEADER...Hehehehehe.
Imagine ordinary me o. Ntakwaranu ji ego ole mji awu my Governor's Leader?

Thanks to God and the magnanimity of my Governor, I fulfilled a promise I made my wife more about 12 years ago.
Ururuaja always keeps his promises. It may take time but I keep them.

BREAKING: Ibori Makes List of 7 Powerful Nigerian Politicians To Watch Out For In 2017

2016 has been an eventful year in Nigerian politics with prominent players on the dramatic scene. Their actions shaped the course of events for the year, and we can no doubt look forward to what they would do in 2017. Some of these politicians are:

1. Atiku Abubakar:
The latter part of 2016 saw Atiku Abubakar's strong desire to clinch on to power by 2019. The former Vice President has been making preps in the nation's political space with several comments and criticisms of the current administration. He has also proffered solutions to some issues. 2017 is a year to watch out more for Atiku's rounds ahead of 2019.

2. Dino Melaye: Dino Melaye is currently serving as a Senator in Nigeria's legislative chambers. Through 2016, the outspoken Kogi-born lawmaker was in the news for many reasons. Prominence among them was the fisticuffs he had with Senator Oluremi Tinubu of Lagos state. He also lent his sharp criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. He was awarded as the most active Senator in 2016 – a laurel which symbolises that there is no end yet to his vituperation.

3. Nyesome Wike: If nothing more, the violence that has enveloped Rivers state under the governance of Barr. Nyesome Wike is something to write about. Before the recently-concluded bloody re-run elections in the state, every other elections have ended inconclusively. The state has been a political battlefield between him and his sworn political enemy, Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi. Wike, a governor of the Peoples Democratic Party was few weeks ago caught on tape threatening to kill an electoral staff during the concluded blood-bathed rerun elections in the state. The tape, leaked by Sahara Reporters, was denied by Wike. Whether for violence or peace, 2017 is another year to watch out for Wike's actions.

4. Ayo Fayose: General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye few days ago commended the Ekiti state governor, Fayose for fighting for his people. Indeed, 2016 has been an eventful year with efforts from Ayo Fayose putting the present government on its toes, and fighting for his people. He is the first governor to come out swiftly against the killer herdsmen by signing the anti-grazing law. Fayose offers sharp criticisms of Buhari's administration. From the fight he had with the President's wife, Aisha to his accounts frozen by the EFCC, among many others, surely 2017 won't put an end to Fayose's troubles.

5. Bola Tinubu: Going by political calculation, no one can really say the next move of Bola Tinubu. The latter end of 2016 seems to be politically disappointing for the Lion of Bourdillon, that it is rumored that the APC National Leader may exit the party to form new party. Tinubu however debunked it saying he laboured with other APC Leaders to build the party and won't forsake the party. His anointed candidates lost at various fronts making people conclude that he is fast losing powers as the king maker. There are also reports of new parties to be formed in 2017. Who knows whether Tinubu will be a party to their formation. 2017 is a year to find out.

6. James IboriJames Ibori popularly known as Odidigboigbo of Africa was a former Governor of Delta State between 1999 - 2007. Prior to his imprisonment in far away United Kingdom, which most of his supporters see as a political witch hunting in 2012. His release few days ago will of cause alter the political calculation in his home State Delta and the nation in general. It is worthy of note that the three Senators representing Delta State at the National Assembly were all former aides of Chief James Onanefe Ibori. Ibori is sure one politician to be watched out for as he is still loved by his people.

7. Shehu Sani: Not even the governor of Kaduna state, El-Rufai is ready to sheath the sword of verbal exchange with Senator Shehu Sani. All through 2016, both of them were at logger heads on political crisis and social and religious violence rocking the state. 2017 is yet another year to continue.

Sheriff is an APC member so he can’t lead PDP - Sule Lamido

By Aliyu M. Hamagam, Dutse

Former governor of Jigawa State, in this interview, speaks on the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the war against corruption and the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Excerpts:

The APC-led government will soon be two years at the helm of affairs of this country. How would you assess the performers of the present administration?

What we are now seeing is a grand deception which has been used to attain government by a party which is not organised, which has no cohesion and history. If you look at the high profile members of the APC, 95 percent are made up of the “PDP thieves”, according to them; former governors, former senators, former vice presidents, former ministers, former everything who were of the PDP's creation and PDP's invention. The whole thing (APC government) was built on quick sand and it is going to collapse.

It is a fact, no matter how well you may wish the APC, no matter how hard you will pray, it will be difficult for them because they don't have capacity for anything. There is no way you can load a two-tonne of pickup with 60 tonnes of Dangote cement and expect such vehicle to move. It can't move because there are bigger trucks for conveying such kind of haulage. The Nigerian load, in terms of its own weight, intensity, contradictions, divide, problems and crises are beyond the capacity of the APC as a vehicle to drive Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari has severally blamed the present Nigerian woes on the past government led by the PDP. What is your take on that?

If there is any great beneficiary of the PDP in Nigeria, the person is Buhari. From 1998 to 1999, there is no way he can get into any contest in Nigeria. He can't contest, I don't mean to insult him. But it is simply a historical empirical fact. With all those who are now calling the shots, all thanks to the PDP because the country has been stabilised and reconciled. One thing I find very funny is the claim that PDP left nothing in the kitty. To me, I find this very laughable because nowhere in the Nigerian constitution is it mandated that you must save for the incoming government.

They said we have taken all the money and left nothing. And for 16 years, we have done nothing in Nigeria. We couldn't have been so totally dormant for 16 years. Having done nothing as they claimed and then there is no money, the two don't add up. We left nothing. Therefore, they can't work.

How do you see the future of democracy in Nigeria, considering the manner of campaigns in the last general elections?

I've been saying this over and over that the strength of the APC, their propelling force, was simply a desire to remove the PDP and harm the PDP. That is why in their campaigns, they said a number of things. There is no big deal when anybody says anything. But then as leaders, you don't cross beyond the red line which serves as a benchmark.

In trying to go contrary, you are coming below the level of decency and leadership. You can say anything simply because you are trying to appease your constituency. The APC comes below level and said a number of things most of which were pure lies. That the PDP is Boko Haram, they look at the Nigerian terrain and begin to apply slogans that fit that environment. In the North, where there are Muslims, they talked about Islam, when they go around Kafanchan, Plateau or Benue, they changed their style. When they go further south, they said a different thing. But in the PDP because we are talking about the nation, wherever we go, the appeal is uniform. It is about Nigeria and the Nigerian federation.

Most of those who are under EFCC investigation were those who served this country at one point or the other under the PDP government. What is your assessment of the war against corruption under President Buhari's administration?

Nobody condones corruption. But you don't go on such smear campaign terrorizing people and demonising a political party in a country that we are supposed to be equal. With this, it means there are two Nigerians; Nigerians of the PDP, people of evil, people who are thieves, who did nothing for Nigeria and then the other Nigerians of the APC. Even if you might have been tagged a thief, after joining the APC with the power and piety of Buhari, you will be clean.

When justice is lost, there would be some problems. Today, no matter how big you are as a thief, if you go to the APC, they would accept you. Look at those going to the APC in the last two to three weeks, they  are people who are on trial by the EFCC. The APC willingly received them with celebration and fanfare.

The APC is a huge sanctuary for thieves now. The leadership should be able to exude confidence, respect and trust,‎ not fear. A leader should be wishing that by his coming to office, he gives you the kind of inspiration, the kind of confidence, and then, you respect him, you love him, not that you fear him. So, fear is never an instrument of governance. Fear will make you desperate and when you are very desperate, you know the consequences.

The future of the PDP is bleak, considering the problems confronting the party. What efforts are you putting in place with a view to rejuvenating the party?

The courts and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) can't solve Nigeria’s problems in the PDP. It's none of their business. All the PDP state chairmen are on the side of the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee, including the zonal chairmen from six zones and the state's assemblies of the 12 states we are controlling; the governors of the party, all former ministers, ambassadors and presidents in the PDP are on Makarfi's side because that is where the party is. So, if somebody like Ali Modu Sheriff, who is my very good friend and brother whom I like a lot, is ignorant of the tradition, culture, mission, vision‎ at formation of the PDP, I can understand.

He was an ANPP governor, senator, party leader and part of the amalgamation of the APC. He is coming from an entirely different background. So, if he fumbles, don’t blame him. If he fails to understand, don't blame him. If he can't comprehend, don't blame him. If he fails to know the vision, don't blame him.

The courts or INEC can’t help us. It is not their business. It is we, the members of the party, who are coming from a background and history that should look at things and say ‘what do we do?

HEIGHTENED PERSECUTION & WOE. By Godson Obot

Kaduna South is predominantly occupied by the christian and there have been series of unprovoked attack and killings of indigenes of such area in hundreds by the Muslims brothers without prompt action by the president, Police IG, the DSS, Army etc. have failed to setup committee to look into perpetrators of such dastardly act and duly brought to book the way they rush to declare 'operation what so ever' in Rivers State, Delta, Cross River, Niger Delta and the entire south, sometime ago a woman preacher was beheaded in the North by islamist group and not too long the culprits were all set free without due penalty, now in all this, this are the same set of 'trusted' leaders in our country who are pushing for grassing bill across the nation, including your respective territories and communities which the  motive behind such plan was vehemently rejected through the effort of well meaning members of the National Assembly, some time ago in a chameleon manner, they tried bring what the masses don't understand through 'emergency bill' which few of us without delay saw the danger of such, alerting the public which was also rejected, as at today they still want to implement what we don't truly understand which such result may spell doom around our communities, the proposed construction of ranches across the Nation by the Army in the APC led Govt.

THOSE WHO ARE STILL DOUBTING WHAT FEW OF US EARLIER ALERTED  SHOULD CONTINUE DOING SO UNTIL YOU ARE FINALLY SOAKED BY THE MYSTERIOUS WATER WHICH IS IN THE OFFING!

Recently pastor Enoch Adeboye could not take it anymore, broke long silence due to persecution the Christians are presently  facing but some gullible Christian's who don't know their left from right joined their enemies to abuse the man of God, such reason is why other senior men of God are keeping mute, such as Pastor W.F Kumuyi etc. who was abused some time ago for not speaking for Christians despite what they are facing in the hand of this present Government.

Is Nigeria sliding into Great Depression? By Dr. Adamu Adamu

Speech Delivered by Dr. Ahmed Adamu at the Katsina Forum held on 25th December 2016.

On 1st week of July, 2016, Nigeria was declared officially in Economic recession, a situation where economic activities or productions decline for two consecutive quarters i.e. six months in a row. These continue to decline up to October 2016, making it likely for the country to face the most prolong economic recession since 1980s recession. A mere decline in value of goods and services produced in a country may sound a mere technicality. Yes, it is technical, because a country can be in recession, but the micro-economies might be doing just ok, and micro-economies might sometimes not be ok, but the country’s GDP growth rate going positive. So, it is sometimes beyond those negative GDP growth rate, it is about some key indicators like inflation (18.84% from 9% on May last year), real per-capita income and wages, access to infrastructure, unemployment (13.3% from 8%), value of currency (N490 from 200) , interest rate (14% from 12%), Foreign Exchange Reserve ($25bn from $37bn) etc. Looking at these indicators, records have shown that, they have not been favourable. These are the indicators people can observe to quantify the magnitude of a recession. If these indicators continue to be unfavourable for a period of up to a year, we can say we are in a depression. Depression is an extreme form of recession.

Therefore, depression is when we have significant increase in unemployment, decrease in access to capital, reduction in output, reduction in trades, currency value fluctuations, large number of bankruptcies. A technical definition of depression is when GDP decline rate exceed 10%, in Nigeria it stared declining by -0.36, then declined by -2.06, and then by -.2.24. So, going by this definition, Nigeria is not in depression yet. Going by the recent trend, the decline increased by more than 400%, but later increased by 8%, which shows the recent decline has increased at a lower rate compare to the initial decline. So, we cannot assume substantial decline up to 10% in a near future. However, if this decline continues for a period of two years, Nigeria can fall into depression. So, there can never be depression without recession, but there could be a recession without depression. A prominent example of depression was the famous 1930 depression.  To joke about it, recession is when your neighbour loses his job, but depression is when you lose yours. Demand fall can cause depression (Keynesians), increased money supply can also cause depression (monetarist).

Having looked at theories and facts above, we can see Nigeria is not likely to be in technical depression, but in the economy of many people, Nigeria is already in depression. Sometimes, we have to close the books, and look at reality. When you see people dying from starvation or economic frustration, that’s depression. When you have to go out and beg for food, that’s depression. When you can’t buy dinner for your family, that’s depression. Of course, when you cannot pay for the health and school bills, that’s depression. Now, look at your own economy, and tell me if you are somehow depressed or not.

Well, I know the level and severity of depression differ among individuals, so, some may already be in depression and some may not. In one way or the other, we can all agree that the Nigerian economy is not on the right track going by the indicators. If allowed to continue, we can face the general great depression . However, we can start thinking of solutions to avoid the great depression in the country. First, we have to know the causes of the current economic crisis in the country. Some of the causes were as a result of circumstances, inactions and sometimes as a results of “mis-actions”.

One of the circumstantial causes include the drop in oil price, which drastically reduce the country’s income and its ability to curb the resultant recession. This apparently exposed how vulnerable the country is to a shock in a single sector. This shows that the economy has no shock absorbers, and this was as a result of inaction of not investing sufficiently in other sectors of the economy to prevent severe hit from a sudden shock in one sector. Some scholarly findings have indicated likely presence of resource curse in Nigeria, as a reduction in oil revenue has thrown the economy into a recession. This caused the country to rely heavily on importation of goods and services to meet local demands, because the weak industrial and manufacturing sector cannot meet the demands. This then exposed the country’s currency to foreign shocks and continues depreciation due to increasing currency supply. To shield citizens from this depreciation and currency value fluctuations, the government created the foreign exchange subsidy, making it very comfortable to keep importing into the country to a level that was no longer sustainable. It has reached the level that people and businesses heavily rely on government to fund every foreign investment expenditure.

This made government to remove or reduce currency exchange subsidies, shooting the cost of import high. In addition, due to the low oil revenue, the government removed the petroleum subsidy, and as a results of these actions, the inflation reached the highest level in a decade. It was largely observed that inflation is the major cause of current economic hardship in the country.

Actions or inaction of every government must definitely have short and long term effects, and it is the responsibility of policy makers to take responsibility of any current economic challenge by identifying what was responsible so as to know the genesis and solutions. Despite the rising inflation, investments and productions keep declining, which push us near stagflation (persistent inflation and unemployment). Even though, it is common that political transitions cause delay or suspension of investment decisions, but lacklustre economic policies and decisions can help compound the crisis. Investors want to see clear short term and long term economic plans and strategy, and it is upon this they make their decisions. Nigerian economic policy indicators are not easily predictable, a times they come as a surprise. This makes aggregate demand to fall, due to low investments. Withdrawal or slow flow of income within an economy causes leakages out of the circular flow, which causes continues fall in aggregate demand.

Economic problems are natural, the pattern of the economy is always up and down, there are periods of stability and periods of stagnation, but what’s more important are the fiscal and monetary policies set to sustain stability or curb downturns. We now have to look at other fiscal policies that the policy makers put in place to address the economic recession. Spending more especially in critical infrasture and social welfare are very important. Borrowing money may be an option, but it has to be strictly for funding infrastructure projects capable of  generating revenue that can be used to service and repay the debt. The decision to operate a single government account created traffic in the flow of income, causing sluggish growth of demand in the pace of fast economic downturn. Despite its economic advantages, the treasury single account ought to have been clustered by sectors or suspended till period of stability.

Fiscal policy has direct impact on the economy, as such it requires very careful study but very quick in period of stagnation. Being very protective and suspicious of generous policies will not help in getting out of the situation. Closing land borders against importation of rice and cars are two important fiscal policy that we have to talk about when assessing the economic recession in the country. In period of economy, the economy must be relaxed and let free relatively to revert to equilibrium. Banning these importation are tantamount to exacerbating inflation and unemployment, leading to severe depression. Importation of rice and cars will automatically be stopped when Nigeria produces its quality cars and rice. It is not true to say until when we have no option that we will produce what we need, if we have to be this so lazy, many would have fall into depression. Despite all the options, we have to set target and strategy to replace all imported products with local ones. This is time to support local and big businesses, not to discourage them.

The monetary policy on the other hand has been targeting the inflation by raising and sticking the interest rate at 14% (from 12%), and Cash reserve ratio to 22.5% (20%), which reduces access to finances to reduce willingness to spend. However, the fiscal policy is doing everything to increase the willingness to spend and access to finances. This shows inconsistency between the two policies. The CBN must be willing to reduce the interest rate and increase money supply. The inflation we experience is not demand pull inflation, and once productions are subsidised and average cost reduced through provision of infrastructures, competition will increase and prices reduced.

Despite the monetary and fiscal measures, individuals have to play their roles of being patriotic and selfless. Market abuse or rent seeking is instrumental in aggravating depression. Everyone has to pitch in and sacrifice to make life better. People take advantage of inflation and Naira devaluation to exploit consumers, and if this continue, the Fiscal and Monetary Policy will not be effective.

Another important factor in analysing the economic depression is Population, a proxy for labour. Great depression can be imminent if more than half of country’s population are inactive due to their gender or poor background, and this is in addition to large percentage of unskilled labour force. Nigerian productivity rate per hour is $3.24 per hour, while in USA is $64.1 per hour, applying the same amount of labour inputs in an hour, Americans will produce output worth $64.1, while Nigerians will produce output worth $3.24. adding more unproductive population amidst shrinking resources lead to great depression. Women empowerment, skills prioritization (not qualification), reward for innovations and dedications, access to quality education and infrastructure will help Improve efficiency and productivity, and until then, we cannot be proud of the size of our population.

Finally, over dozing economy will make it sick again, what is more important is to identify the linkages between every sector and implication of every policy. One variable can be controlled, and others have to be let free. That is why engaging and involving experts in decision making  is inevitable for effective economic policies. To avoid further depression, there should be consultations prior to implementation of new policy, and necessary indicators have to be  identified to measure success or otherwise of every policy. We have to be ready to take difficult and vigorous policies, not necessary the lazy options, but enduring and careful policies.

Thank YoYou

23 UNIPORT EXPELLED STUDENTS: NANS CHARGES ALLSTUDENTS TO STOP ALL FEE PAYMENT

The National Association of Nigerian Students' (NANS) Zone B condemns in strong terms the calous and inhumane decision of a supposed intelligentsia conglomerate called Senate of University of PortHarcourt (UNIPORT) on the expulsion of 23 Nigerian students, 12 Faculty Presidents inclusive.
It would be recalled that this issue of school fee payment has been on since April 2016, which led to the unfortunate killing of Comr. Peter Ofurum, a first class student of University of PortHarcourt and the former Faculty President of Management Sciences.
This callous decision of the University of PortHarcourt Senate led by the heartless Vice Chancellor; Prof. Ndowa Lale has further brought to fore a man who is not ready to repent from his murderous way. This has further demonstrated that Mr. Lale Ndowa is not fit to lead a prestigious University as University of PortHarcourt.
How on this earth, 21st century Nigeria will a University expell students without fair hearing, no invitation to appear before any Students disciplinary panel. Expelling student leaders for profering solution has shown the world the  autocratic regime presided by Lale Ndowa.
On this note, we hereby direct all University of PortHarcourt Students to forthwith stop all further payment of school fees and registration to University of PortHarcourt until all issue relating to the University fee system is resolved and the non negotiable reinstatement of all politically expelled students of the University with immediate effect.
All students of the University are to by this press release remain at home as anything contrary will bring the University management into an open confrontation with the god of Aluta of the Nigeria Students Movement.

... Until man dies, the struggle continues!
