The Christians in Nigeria have got their work cut out for them! They must brace up for the battle ahead.
Whether they are prepared or not the fact is the Christians in Nigeria today are at war!
I hate to sound alarmist but the is the truth!
These Fulani invasions of Christian community is not a random uncoordinated attacks by a rabble rousing lot who mistakenly got hold of guns.
No! It's a well orchestrated plan been put into action.
I listened to Rev. Musa Asake on a radio program.
Rev. Musa Asake is the General Secretary of CAN (which is the umbrella union of Christians in Nigeria), himself an indigene of Southern Kaduna. I came away with the fact that Christians have no idea of what they are up against.
According to the Rev. gentleman the government of El Rufai imposed a curfew before the incident but surprisingly the murderous lot had a field day killing and maiming.
He also accused the military of been stationed only in Muslims quarters while leaving the Christian quarters unprotected.
He further alleged that recently the governor went to commission a church auditorium and stated that whilst one can't see government presence in Southern Kaduna, the impact of the church is everywhere and as such it would appear the governor is determined to erase that impact.
Now these are weighty allegations and bear close scrutiny.
Is it true that there was curfew before the attacks? My investigations says yes! In fact it's an open fact. The question is how come these Fulani herdsmen were able to visit the Goska community with so much destruction without been challenged by the security agencies?
Are the military stationed only In Muslim quarters? Recent events lead us to two unmistable conclusion, a) either the above assertion is true or b) the security architecture and operatives are heavily compromised.
The Southern Kaduna killing fields have shown up Buhari and El'rufai as two unfeeling religious bigots.
My advice to Rev. Musa Asake and the entire people of Southern Kaduna is to mount a massive protest against the killings.
They must work together and document their suffering and submit same to the UN Secretariat as well as different embassies including but not limited to the US, UK, Russia, French, and German embassies.
Then they must get the international media involved.
He says they lack the contacts but CAN (of which he is the Secretary General) should have the needed contacts and should make it available.
CAN/PFN and other Christian bodies must support these our suffering brethren in Southern Kaduna.
They must get their butts of their comfort zones, roll up their sleeves and get to defend the faith!
Silence Is not golden!
Inaction isn't acceptable!
For my Southern Nigeria Christians who believe it can't get to them ask yourself how nations like Turkey became Islamic? Was it by evangelization?
We must no longer fold our hands.
We must defend the faith earnestly or we fail our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whom we claim to profess!
