APC are liars, thrives on propaganda - Odumakin

Frontline political activist, Yinka Odumakin, on Friday said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is an offshoot of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but deceiving Nigerians that it is bringing change to the country.

In an interview with Saturday Independent, Odumakin wondered why the APC can be clamouring for change of governance at the federal level but resisting same in Lagos State despite being in the saddle for 16 years.

While claiming that the APC has exploited the media and propaganda to bewitch Nigerians, he urged the citizens to think deeply and reflect on the antecedents of APC leaders, adding that prominent chieftains are at one time or other key stakeholders in the PDP.

“The other time when I said I am passionate about restructuring this country and that I believe President Jonathan has called a national conference and we can hold him to implement that report.

“ I also added that based on that I am supporting Jonathan for as long as APC does not say anything about the situation of this country. Some ignorant groups started attacking me, calling me a PDP member. I told them I don’t belong to any political party but if I decide to join PDP today, what is the big deal in it?”

“What they call APC today, what is it if not an offshoot of PDP? Their governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Tambuwal is PDP speaker. Their governorship candidate in Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, was PDP speaker. The man they are propping up to be Senate President if they win, Bukola Saraki, was a PDP governor for eight years and senator for four years before they form New PDP, which has now transformed to APC.”

“The Director-General of their campaign, Rotimi Amaechi, was PDP speaker for eight years. Even Obasanjo, their navigator was PDP president for eight years. Same for Segun Oni, Oyinlola, El-Rufai and many others.”

“Yet, some ignorant people are being bewitched by these ones that they are different from PDP and they have something better to offer. APC thrives on lies and propaganda. They have spent so much money to brainwash our people.

“Today, if APC says they can make a chicken to fly like an eagle, many Nigerians will believe them because APC has the media capacity to do that. They have mastered the strategy of propaganda to colour the thinking of our people”.

“ Look at the Ekiti election, Fayose gave uncooked rice while Fayemi served jollof-rice. Yet, the APC were blind to Fayemi but kept saying Fayose won on basis of stomach infrastructure,” he said.
