Delta stand still as a Grassroot Movement is born; It is Canaan Movement and Okowa is the answer - Comr. Akpobire (+PHOTOS)

The good people of Delta State stood still on the 3rd of January, 2015 as a grassroot campaign group for the election of Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa as the Governor of Delta State was born. The group was unveiled by no other person but the incoming Governor himself.
Some of the highlight of the programme was the cutting of the unveiling cake by Sen. Okowa, were he made some bullet points; calling for the unity of Delta State.
He said:
1) "If you aspire to govern Delta State on the basis of ethnicity, go and buy Senatorial form or better still go and contest for House of Representatives"
2) "We have to take back our number one position in the comity of States, as it were back then in BENDEL STATE"
3) "As BENDELites, we were first in Education, Health, Sport etc..."
4) "This is the Delta State we look forward to building... And i know with you all in support of this project, it is achievable" he said.
The Coordinator of the group; Comr. Michael Akpobire, assured Senator Okowa, that as a grassroot based group, victory is certain come February 2015.
The crowd at the Canaan Movement lauchon was unprecedented as the group parades the who is who in Delta State, with structures from State level down to unit coordinators.
